Urban Schools presents Texas Adult driver education course for 18 to 24 year olds in Texas
- Be 18 years of age
- Finish the driver education course approved by Texas TDLR
- Hold an instruction permit for 1 year and have a clean driving record for 6 months, before you can apply for the intermediate driving license
- Must have written consent of the parent or guardian. Present the written consent in-person at a driving license issuance site or complete the Written Consent Form for Parent’s/Guardian.
- Complete a minimum of 20 hours of supervised driving along with any other driving that you have completed in the driver’s education course. A minimum of 2 hours out of that total must be completed during the night.

What can I do with the permit?

- Carry more passengers in the car than the number of seatbelts, even under adult supervision.
