Urban Schools: The Challenge of Location and Poverty
You need to be 17 years of age.
You must have your intermediate license for 1 year before you can apply for a full license. You need to have a clean driving record for 1 year before you can apply for a full license
You have to complete 10 hours under adult supervision while driving with your intermediate license. Out of those hours, 2 hours have to be completed from sunset and sunrise.
Once you are 18 years of age, you can apply for the full license, without completing any of the above mentioned requirements.
What happens if I mess it up?
If you mess up, which means a conviction or traffic violation caused due to reckless driving, speeding, or failure to obey traffic signals, Challenge of Location and Poverty, your license will be suspended. If you violate any of the restrictions that are mentioned on your license or contributed or caused to an accident, your license will be suspended.
Your first violation, crash or conviction: Your license will be suspended and you will receive further restrictions. These can include additional reductions on the hours you drive without adult supervision and additional passenger restrictions.
Your second violation, crash or conviction: Your license will be suspended for a period of 30 days.
When you have an accident, violation or conviction, your 1 year clean driving record period will begin. Anytime your license can be revoked or suspended when the 1 year period for holding an intermediate license will begin.
